How we choose what we sell
Last updated 29 October 2026
Most sex shops list thousands of products and leave you to work it out. We stock a short range and tell you who each product suits. This is how we decide what goes in.
What gets in
- Each product has to do a clear job at a clear price. Every category runs from a cheap first try to a premium pick, and each step up should give you a reason to pay more.
- We need the facts: size, materials, power and what's in the box. If the maker's own information contradicts itself, the product stays out until that's cleared up.
- We prefer silicone and other body-safe materials, and we say what each product is made of wherever the maker does.
What stays out
- Anything shaped like a body part or sold on being "realistic". It isn't what most of our customers want, and it doesn't fit a calm shop.
- Near-duplicates. If two products do the same job at the same price, we keep the one with clearer facts.
- Products sold on medical or enlargement claims. Where we sell a delay product or a pump, we say what it does and what it doesn't.
How we write about products
We write every description ourselves from the maker's facts. Nothing is copied from the supplier. Each product page has two short notes: who it suits, and who should skip it. If a cheaper product would do the same job, the note says so.
Our guides cite the NHS and other medical sources for any health fact. We don't give medical advice: if something is new, painful or keeps happening, see a GP or pharmacist.
How we set prices
We check what other UK shops charge for the same product. Where we can match the lowest price we find and still cover our costs, we do. Where we can't, we usually don't stock it.
Photos
Product photos come from the maker or our supplier and show the product only. The other photos on the site are from Pexels. We don't use AI-generated images.
Who we are
Fettle is a small UK online shop. Orders are packed and sent from a UK warehouse in a plain box. Who runs it and where to write to us are on our business details page.
